Series Episod...

Welcome to Honor Your Truth The Is It True? Series Episode Twenty A watched pot never boils I had just gotten my drivers license. It was kind of a big deal for me to be alone at the mall, as goofy as it sounds now. I was doing some "day after Thanksgiving" Christmas shopping. I was wearing a jean skirt and my favorite rust colored moccasin boots. I was kind of like hippie-ish in those days. While I was walking around, window shopping through the stores, I felt this guy watching me. He had freckles. I looked up a few times and noticed him there. Hed pop up out of the blue, like a shape shifter of sorts, and disappear just the same. In hindsight, I did think something was very strange about him. He seemed off, but then I was a worry wart, after all. Everyone had an MO in my family and mine was worry wart. I have since learned that what I actually am, is a person with a keen sense of reality and very good intuition. If something seems weird, it probably is. If someone seems dishonest, they probably are. I can trust myself because I am rarely wrong. I was having one of those bad shopping days, you know the ones. I just couldnt find anything for anybody, even myself. Nowadays, if it aint happening, it aint happening and I get the heck out of there. Back then, I kept trying. I finally bought one of those gigantic chocolate chip cookies, a lemonade and headed for the car. I had a big old red caddy. We called it the boat. It could fit a good 8 people and had awesome speakers in the back. My sister and I used to sing Rush 2112 and drive around. She sounded just like Geddy Lee and she new all the lyrics. It was warmer than usual as I climbed into the car. Out of nowhere the guy that was following me appeared and he shoved me to the passenger side as he got in behind the wheel. It happened so fast. I have gone over and over this night and I dont know why I was so lucky. Its interesting how such a traumatic event can be so foggy and unreal. I know we talked for quite a while. He actually told me his name, where he went to school, and that he was a basketball player. At some point, I had the sense I should get out of the car, and so I did, leaving my car running and in his possession. He drove away. I took off on foot screaming for help. Even though the parking lot was a flurry of activity, it seemed like forever before a young couple helped me get back into the mall and call for security. In the meantime, the guy had ditched my car and taken off. When the police arrived, they listened to my story. I dont remember talking very long, writing anything down, giving them my identification, or anything. I do remember feeling like I did something wrong. While in some kind of a haze, they drove away leaving me and the security guard standing there. I dont know why I felt ashamed, but I did. I could never tell my parents what had happened, so I drove to my friends house and slept on her couch. Shortly there after, I moved in with a coworker. I never envisioned my exodus from the nest being so sudden, but it was, and I never went home to live again. About a month or so later, I was at work and we were all sitting around the waitress table, the term server wasnt widespread yet. We were smoking, drinking coffee and waiting for the nightshift to begin. These ladies, most being twice my age, all knew about the incident at the mall. One of them was reading the local newspaper and pointed to a story. It was a short blurb, not big news. It told of a woman that had been raped on the campus of a nearby college. It told about how she was the first to come forward and actually name a star player on the basketball team as the perpetrator. There were many victims. The article had his name and his picture. I felt like I was going to pass out. It was him. I called the police. There was no record of the night, my night, of me, what happened........

http://www.calpernia.com/diary http://www.genderlife.com Calpernia makes her classic holiday dessert, "One Pan Magic Cookie Bars". Happy Thanksgiving. And yes, the recipe's right off the can of Eagle condensed milk (I used the low fat version), but I don't need to read the recipe any more: INGREDIENTS (Nutrition) * 1/2 cup butter or margarine, melted * 1 1/2 cups graham cracker crumbs * 1 (14 ounce) can EAGLE BRAND Sweetened Condensed Milk * 2 cups semisweet chocolate morsels * 1 1/3 cups flaked coconut * 1 cup chopped nuts DIRECTIONS 1.
